Since 1957

Harmony

The idea was hatched by Robert Scott, Sam Ritchie and Victor Dane at the R.B.P demonstration in Lisburn on the last Saturday in August 1992, Archie McKinley and Robert Foster also joined for the first practice.

Band conductor Harry McDonald (since retired) advised them to stick to four part harmony and after about four weeks practice their first booking was the Harvest Supper in the Cregagh Congregational.

It was a struggle at the start to learn how to play harmony but the Lord had plans for them and nine years later they are still going strong, alas Robert Foster who thought of the appropriate name Harmony has since gone to Glory but the rest of the lads like good Christian Soldiers march on to spread their message and are averaging around 50 outings a year going to various Churches and nursing homes.

It's amazing what goes on in an accordion band, keep up the good work lads
